On Saturday, October 13th, we celebrated the healing power of the Spirit of Jesus Christ in the Sacrament of the Sick. In the context of Mass, Fr. Palardy, Fr. Makos, Fr. McLaughlin and Fr. Powers, laid hands on those seriously and/or chronically ill and those preparing for or recovering from surgery and anoint them with the Oil of the Sick which was blessed by Cardinal O’Malley on Tuesday of Holy Week. A luncheon followed in our Gathering Space.

The summer service trip to Hinton, West Virginia as part of the 8017674346 , wrapped up on July 28th, and the 36 teens and 15 chaperones arrived home safely. They spent their week installing flooring, repairing decks and roofs, framing and adding insulation in service to those in need. One of the families they assisted in Hinton, WV was featured on a local TV news
program. To see the piece, click this link:

Peace

Prayer for Peace     Pope John XXIII
Lord Jesus Christ, you are called the Prince of Peace, you are yourself our peace and reconciliation, who so often said, "Peace to you," grant us peace.
Make all men and women witnesses of truth, justice, and brotherly love.
Banish from their hearts whatever might endanger peace.
Enlighten our rulers that they may guarantee and defend the great gift of peace.
May all peoples on the earth become as brothers and sisters.
May longed-for peace blossom forth and reign always over us all.

Get Involved Although the body has many parts, it is one body. We, though many, are one body in Christ. We are the Church. Not a building. Not the staff of the parish, not the hierarchy alone --- all of us together are Church and all of us must respond to the Holy Spirit and build the Kingdom of God. Give some thought and prayer to trying one of the parish ministries if you are not involved already. Click here for a list of ministries. It will benefit you, it will benefit us as a community and it will spread the Good News.
