Welcome to North Texas AOSA

Orff Schulwerk is a music education approach in which students are guided through a process of musical development using speech, singing, moving, and playing instruments as learning tools. Composer Carl Orff and his associate Gunild Keetman evolved the philosophy and processes of this unique approach, which places much importance on improvisation and creation.

The North Texas Chapter is a group of over 150 music instructors, mostly in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, who use this approach in their classrooms and studios. We provide Saturday workshops with nationally known Orff Schulwerk clinicians to present methods for using the Orff-Schulwerk process with students of all ages.

We are delighted that you have found your way to this website, and we invite you to join us for our upcoming workshops! Please visit the 209-595-0603 section to discover the latest happenings, and visit our Workshops page to see the current lineup of terrific presenters coming to share with us! We are a local chapter of the American Orff Schulwerk Association. We encourage you to not only get involved with our local chapter, but to support AOSA. Our parent organization has MUCH to offer. You can learn more about it in the About section of our site or visit AOSA directly here.

What Our Members Are Saying

I really enjoyed the workshop with Kris Olson. What fun we had with buckets and dancing! North Texas AOSA is worth every minute of your Saturday time.

Why are you not a member yet? Travis

If you need something for your Monday morning class, go to these workshops. You will get so much stuff to take directly to your class. And all year long, I’ve been using the lessons I’ve gathered from the chapter meeting.  I even have a NTAOSA notebook that I keep all my workshop notes in.

Best Training Out There Nancy

I have made so many connections by going to these meetings.  There are teachers from all over this area and in conversations, I’ve picked up so many tips on what to do for first day, and classroom management and so many other things.  Plus, the chapter has videos that I can use from previous meetings, so if I missed one, I can always catch up on a clinician’s presentation.

I love North Texas Orff! Tonya
